Sympathetic to Irony.

Ceru kept running from the Pokemon Center before he ended up outside of town, just before the mountains started. It was odd, to have a mountain range right after a forest area, but oh well. Ceru couldn't really argue with the universe. He slowed to a walk and continued on, the area around him becoming more and more rocky. He got to the point that he could only see Fauna in the far distance, and other than that was completely surrounded by rocks. He could tell there were wild Pokemon here, just as he could with the forest. They were just shy, is all. He twirled around for a few seconds before he heard pebbles being scattered, and turned to see where the sound was coming from.

In front of him now skittered a Dwebble, barely paying any attention to Ceru. Ceru laughed briefly and then took out Snorunt's Pokeball, clicking the button and letting the snow hat Pokemon appear in a stream of white light. Dwebble turned then and looked up at Ceru.

Snorunt regarded the Dwebble with interest, walking up to it and poking its shell. Ceru took out his old fashioned Pokedex and waited a second as it loaded up. He pointed it at Dwebble and yawned softly. "Dwebble, the Rock Inn Pokémon. No more information is found about this Pokemon." Ceru groaned then, stuffing the Pokedex back in his pocket after checking out the Pokemon's type. That was right- His Pokedex only had information up to Sinnoh, so Unova Pokemon it wouldn't have any information on. At the very least, it told him Dwebble's type. "A Rock-Bug, eh? How funny. No offense, though. Just weird. Regardless, you're pretty cool. Imma catch you."

Ceru giggled and motioned for Snorunt to come back, which he did. "Snooorunnt?" His Pokemon asked, looking confused. "Snorunt, Icy Wind!" Snorunt turned back to Dwebble and nodded, going along with his trainer's orders. Opening his maw wide, Snorunt shot out a large cold gust at Dwebble.

Dwebble jumped in shock at Snorunt's attack aiming at it, instantly going on the defensive. "Dweeeble!" Dwebble braced itself as it was pushed back by the Icy Wind, quickly shaking the damage off and raising it's claws into the air. Glowing white rocks appeared around it in a double-circular formation, spinning rapidly before firing at Snorunt. The rocks were quick and there was a good number of them, so Ceru decided dodging wouldn't be the best idea nor possible. "Snorunt, Protect!" The green energy field that was Snorunt's Protect materialized into existence around Snorunt.

This caused Dwebble's Rock Blast attack to smack dangerously against Protect, causing ripples along it's surface before both the attacks faded away. Ceru grinned happily and pointed at Dwebble, readying his next attack.

"Snorunt, Bite!" Ceru called out, Snorunt jumping at his voice and sailing towards Dwebble. Snorunt opened his mouth wide, showing his teeth and clamping down directly on Pebble. However, Dwebble had been ready, and his rock/shell had begun to shine. The surface of the rock/shell sparkled and reflected light, and Dwebble was gone, moving to the side quickly and dodging the bite attack. Ceru stood dumbfounded as Snorunt bit at air, falling to the ground and looking around confused. "Dwe-eh-eh-eh-eh!" The Dwebble laughed, clawing at the ground with it's eyes closed.

Ceru grimaced and waved his hand weakly in the air. "Dangit dangit dangit.. Freaking Dwebble. That was Rock Polish, which nearly doubles the speed of a rock type Pokemon so it can keep up with faster opponents." Ceru clicked his tongue and took a step forward, waving his hand in the air and motioning for Snorunt to get ready.

Dwebble was caught completely unaware by Snorunt as it was still laughing. "Snorunt, Icy Wind again!" Ceru called out. Snorunt responded in kind by shouting out from behind Dwebble, causing the rock-bug Pokemon to jump. "Snooooruuunt!" That same large gust of cold wind burst out of Snorunt's mouth, completely covering Dwebble in it's direct power. Dwebble cried out and was sent flying, bouncing against the ground and then rolling a way before it finally recollected its wits. Dwebble stood up weakly and shook, casting a menacing glance Snorunt before charging at him. Thanks to the speed boost from Rock Polish, Dwebble quickly got to Snorunt.

His claws begin to glow white and his jumped slightly, dangerously bringing them down and slashing at Snorunt with them like twin scythes. It continued to slash at Snorunt no matter if he dodged or not, attacking about 5 times in succession. "Damnit! I'm so sick of that Fury Cutter move!!"

Snorunt was caught by the swift attack and suffered a good amount of damage, being hit by about four of the Fury Cutters. Snorunt grunted and struggled backwards, away from Dwebble. Dwebble staggered slightly as it followed, damage apparent on it as well. "Snoruunnt.." "Dweeeeble.." Ceru sighed and shook his head, both Pokemon having let their guards down in this moment of self-pity. "Snorunt!" The sound of Ceru's voice caused both Pokemon to jump. "Icy Wind! Now!" Snorunt jumped to attention as if he had never diverged from their original intention, and quickly fired a cold gust at the startled Dwebble.

Dwebble cried out and went flying once again, but this time it didn't get back up. Little swirls were now noticeable in the place of Dwebble's eyes, the Pokemon having fainted from the three Icy Wind's it had endured so far. Ceru smiled- Dwebble would make a good addition to his team. The Pokemon was strong, regardless that it lost to Snorunt. Hell, Snorunt was damaged pretty badly. Grabbing a new Pokeball he tossed it at Dwebble, not even bothering to look if it worked while turning to return Snorunt as well.
